As the Senior Operations Consultation Manager at Starbucks, you will spearhead a critical role in driving performance optimization and identifying growth opportunities across the organization. Your expertise in operations will be instrumental in providing strategic consultation on plans, projects, and promotions that directly impact retail operations. By meticulously planning, developing, and testing large-scale and intricate products, systems, and programs within the retail realm, you will have the power to shape partner and customer experiences, ultimately elevating the brand's value and fostering its continuous growth. As a Starbucks Senior Operations Consultation Manager, you will . . .

  • Bring your deep operational leadership experience to large cross-functional bodies of work. Your subject matter expertise will ensure the successful delivery operational initiatives for our store partners.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership through collaboration with team and cross-functional partners on strategic initiatives and programs that impact Starbucks retail stores.
  • Provide retail operations perspective and expertise on projects, programs, and initiatives to optimize performance relative to sales, profitability and the customer and partner.
  • Analyze and evaluates project interdependencies and their impacts. Works cross-functionally to fully understand interdependencies and ensure solutions support related tracks of work.
  • Collect project feedback and information to identify root cause of problems to solve and optimize performance.
  • Ensure all teams working on the projects or program understand and work toward accomplishing the business vision, goals and objectives of the project or program.
  • Present implementation strategies and recommendations utilizing the Retail Operating Model (consideration of the Partner, Customer, and Business impact) as a filter and framework.
  • Develop content for implementation, communication, and sustainment to ensure effective integration with the Store Operating System.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Skilled in evaluating the impact of change and adept at designing change management processes that consider multiple leadership levels, prioritizing the end user's perspective. This ensures the successful implementation and user acceptance of new products, equipment, processes, or work methods.
  • Strong analytical skills, enabling the ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence and collaborate with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying Lean principles to identify problems, conducting thorough root cause analysis, and developing effective countermeasures for significant and complex challenges faced by the company.
  • Deep understanding of the Starbucks Operating System and extensive knowledge of Starbucks retail store operations, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead multiple large and complex projects simultaneously, working alongside cross-functional partners and retail leadership teams across the organization.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Starbucks District Manager, or 6 years of progressively responsible experience with a focus on 3 years of retail operations management and 3 years of implementation and/or project management in a dynamic retail or restaurant environment.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both orally and in writing, with the capacity to deliver clear and concise messages to senior leadership audiences.
  • Proven track record of quickly establishing and maintaining productive cross-functional working relationships.
  • Thrives in ambiguous situations, demonstrating the ability to find innovative solutions.
  • Proficient in assessing the impact of change and developing effective processes to ensure the successful implementation and user acceptance of new processes, products, procedures, or methods.
