Responsibilities


What you'll be challenged to do:


OPC, a division of TranSystems, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk who is responsible for a variety of accounts payable activities and plays an important role in ensuring accounts payable is processed in a timely and accurate manner. The Accounting Clerk also assists with audits and other activities when necessary. This position will coordinate with accounting and/or other departments to address questions/problems related to the A/P process.


Essential Functions Include but are Not Limited to:


  • Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, and other administrative duties.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Contact clients and vendors as necessary to ensure accurate and on-time payments.
  • Maintain relationships with Internal and External customers to drive efficiencies in processes.
  • Assist accounting staff and department with day-to-day accounting duties.
  • Utilize spreadsheets and database tools to assist in financial record keeping.
  • Assist in projects, process improvements, and other tasks as identified by management.
  • Issue Checks for Trust bank accounts.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of corporate and sub-contractor payables.
  • Ensure W-9’s are collected before vendor set up.
  • 1099 annual filing.
  • Track payments and ensure accuracy of paid accounts.


Qualifications


What you bring to our firm:


  • Inquisitive nature, strong problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum two years of experience in customer service and accounting office environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Technically savvy – experience with QuickBooks or Propertyware a plus.
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter with excellent time management skills.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining high productivity.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices.
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-sensitive.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or NY City, TranSystems is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $37,500-$45,000 annually.
