Job Description
Position Summary


The Accounting Clerk is primarily responsible for processing all payments made by the company, including processing corporate credit cards and ACH payments. The Accounting Clerk also performs various office related tasks such as processing incoming and outgoing mail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES


Position Specific Duties


  • Manage petty cash ensuring adequate documentation is obtained. Works with departments on their change fund requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Process accounts payables.Obtains proper invoice approval and follows up as necessary.Ensures proper expense classifications and allocations.
  • Manages the monthly corporate credit card process which includes reviewing expense reports to ensure proper documentation is obtained.
  • Post properly approved invoices into the accounting system and processes payments.
  • Assists with ACH payment processing.
  • Prepares prepaid expense amortization journal entries.
  • Administers W-9 and 1099 forms.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and distributes incoming mail for the company.
  • Manage vendor list.


Other Duties


  • Follows all safety procedure and practices.
  • Completes training as mandated by organizational policy.
  • May perform relief duties and assist in other areas of the Finance department as needed.
  • Follows established work rules, standards of conduct, policies, procedures and practices.
  • May assist Finance department with other month end closing entries and account reconciliations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with confidential information and comply with established policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to gain and possess thorough knowledge of Lanakila Pacifics programs and seeks ongoing educational opportunities related to the position.


Working Conditions/Hours


  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 am 4:30 pm, may be required to work overtime as needed.
  • Indoor, office setting, outdoors; may need to do deliveries, travel to other program sites, meeting sites, etc., as required.


Equipment Use


  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Other standard office equipment, i.e., computer, copier


Qualifications


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Required


  • Clearances/Certification: 1) TB clearance; 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug testing, 4) Child Protective Service/Adult Protective Service check.
  • Education: High school diploma or Certificate of Completion or equivalent
  • Experience: No accounting experience required


Preferred


  • Previous experience performing similar tasks like data entry.
