Job Description

We are OperationsInc., a human resources consulting firm based in Norwalk, CT. Our client, located in New York City, is a fast growing multi-national apparel corporation and is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to oversee all aspects of the company's US operations as well as driving its overall strategic direction. The CEO will report directly to the Chairman/CEO of their parent company based in Hong Kong.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Provide regular reports and updates to the board of directors, keeping them informed of the company's performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Talent Management: Foster a high-performance culture by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. Build a diverse and inclusive organization, promoting employee engagement, development, and teamwork.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's long-term strategic vision, ensuring alignment with the parent company’s objectives. Set ambitious goals and objectives to drive growth, profitability, and market leadership.
  • Financial Management: Monitor the company's financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and cash flow. Make informed decisions to optimize financial resources and maximize shareholder value.
  • Branding and Marketing: Champion the company's brand identity and market positioning. Drive innovative marketing and promotional strategies to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee all operational activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across the company's supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, and retail operations.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, investors, and government entities. Represent the company in external engagements, industry events, and media interactions.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with the design and product development teams to create compelling and innovative apparel collections that meet customer demands and market trends.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the company's reputation, financial stability, or operations. Implement robust governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
  • International Expansion: Identify and pursue opportunities for expanding the company's presence in new markets globally. Develop market entry strategies and forge strategic partnerships to drive growth and market share.



Requirements:

  • Financial acumen and the ability to drive financial performance.
  • A global mindset and experience in international business expansion.
  • Strong P&L business acumen including budget preparation, fiscal management with orientation to business profitability.
  • Strong understanding of marketing to develop and communicate the brand’s strategic vision.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience as a CEO or in a senior executive role within the retail industry having led a multifunctional set of direct reports.



Qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • 10+ years in a senior level role within the retail industry with a strong sales & marketing background.
  • Must work full time in New York City.
  • Ability to articulate and implement a clear vision for the organization.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders while working in an environment that requires flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong organizational and management skills with a proven track record of leading a diverse team from senior level to store staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
