American Humane is seeking an experienced Account Manager, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships . The position reports directly to the Associate Vice President, Corporate and Cause Marketing. Position summary:


The Account Manager, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships will provide support for and oversee various corporate, cause marketing, and foundation accounts and manage partner relationships.


This position is responsible for working collaboratively to manage partnership relationships and fulfillment with current corporate, cause marketing, and foundation partners – from major promotional cause-marketing partners to event sponsors to restricted programmatic gifts. The Account Manager will follow partnership practices and trends, as well as be interested in utilizing project management, brand marketing, PR, social media, digital, experiential, promotions, and creative to bring 360 partnerships to life.


Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Corporate and Cause Marketing, the Account Manager will also support the broader Corporate & Foundation Partnerships team in partner reporting, database support, and more. .


Responsibilities:


  • Work with program leadership and finance to guarantee fiscal integrity of program operation as it relates to funding requirements and timely spending of pass-through dollars to ensure implementation of the program meets donor expectations.
  • Provide strategic ideas and input for the development of marketing and communications projects, campaigns, and plans for partners and the team.
  • Communicate partnership goals and priorities to internal and external stakeholders through briefing materials, decks, and presentations.
  • Manage day-to-day partnership needs, activation, and fulfillment for national sponsors, cause marketing partners, philanthropic corporate and foundation donors, and more across varied sectors.
  • Seek and develop incremental or renewal revenue opportunities as appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively with finance, ensure proper and timely invoicing for assigned corporate partners.
  • Shepherd partner product and partnership announcements, content, and activations through marketing, communications, and American Humane review and approval process.
  • Track and record partner activities in reports and organization’s database in a timely fashion.
  • Appropriately manage internal and external relationships around grant outcomes and results to meet or exceed donor expectations, and diplomatically handle situations that create competing priorities.
  • Draft and prepare renewal strategies, term sheets, proposals, and contracts for partnership renewals.
  • Manage systems to ensure delivery of benefits and completion of reports to funders, cross-collaborating with program, marketing, communications, events, legal and finance teams as needed to implement benefits and to develop content for narrative and financial reports on deadline.
  • Support partner planning and activation meetings.


Essential experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:


  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, on the phone, and in person.
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or similar customer management database.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • A passion for the American Humane mission and the animals and people we serve.
  • Demonstrated ability in high-level relationship management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits sound judgement, discretion, diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Strong computer skills using MS Office, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in customer or client management.
  • Able to work well both independently, with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience in fundraising, cause marketing, sponsorship, marketing or related field and should include budget management or project management in the non- or for-profit industry.
  • Understanding of cause marketing best practices and BBB guidelines preferred.
  • Proven skills to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical demands and work environment:


  • Position may be remotely based with strong preference for being based on the East Coast. Remote telework requirements are based on organizational policy, need and manager discretion.
  • Must be comfortable with occasional animals, in particular dogs, in the office or at work related events.
  • Must be able to work from a computer screen and type on a keyboard for extended periods of time as well as talk, hear and exchange information over the telephone, computer and in person.
  • Ability to travel, estimated 15%, and work some evenings and weekends to attend partner meetings, events or activations.
