Under the direction of the regional operations manager and sales representative coordinates internal operations, performs administrative duties, weekly work plans, reporting and assists sales representative in meeting expected growth objectives. This position also provides customer service related to claims inquiries, membership, and general questions through telephone calls, email or in person and ensures the service commitment by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is promptly and accurately represented according to corporate standards. This position requires the ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion, the ability to be highly detailed and accurate in a fast-moving production office environment.\ \ **Position located in Manhattan**



Essential Functions


  • Assists in market identification and updating of account data
  • Assists in proposal and renewal rating process, including calculation of broker fees and rate verification
  • Performs service and retention functions for sales representatives assigned book of business
  • Assists in developing sales aids and recommends improvement in sales materials where applicable
  • Completes the enrollment process for new and existing employer groups
  • Participates in various job-related training throughout the year (travel may be required)
  • Reviewing and submitting complete and accurate documentation for rating purposes
  • Responsible for preparing sales aids to be mailed/faxed/emailed to businesses
  • Reviews various member and group forms for accuracy and submission
  • Coordinates travel, meeting arrangements and materials for group meetings and sales representatives weekly sales calls
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate in a professional manner across all lines of business including internal departments, external contacts, brokers and groups
  • Assists in enrolling new groups, with occasional on-site visits and aide in enrollment or delivering supplies/contracts, etc. and other contacts through written and oral methods
  • Assists in market identification and updating of account data
  • Conducts group administrator meetings and group employee meetings in person and/or virtually where issues and concerns may be raised
  • Responds to questions, objections, complaints, and concerns of customers either by written, phone or walk-in inquiries
  • Prepares proposals, including rate calculation
  • Maintains sales aids and monitors effectiveness and use of existing materials with regional operations manager
  • Research and explain benefit options and underwriting regulations associated with group sales and enrollment
