Job Description


Job Summary


Reports personal injuries, train accidents, and grade crossing incidents to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Trains CSXT managers in the use of the Railroad Accident Reporting System and holds them accountable for submitting accurate and complete reports. Reviews information from Payroll, Risk Management, Engineering, Mechanical, Public Safety Command Center (PSCC), and Oracle Financials to ensure case files are accurate. Makes determination of reportability.


Primary Activities And Responsibilities


  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
  • Submit Railroad Accident Reporting (RAR) reports, verify information submitted is complete and accurate, follow up on gaps, hold all levels accountable for reporting.
  • Train field officers in system reporting requirements and regulation standards. Recommend process improvements.
  • Audit and follow up on outstanding issues/reports. Hold all departments accountable.
  • Review departmental reports, auditing process.
  • Fulfill inspector requests for accountable reports. Produce and distribute required state reports.
  • Review cross-departmental systems to ensure case file is reviewed for accuracy and completeness including RMS-Claims/Medical, Engineering, Mechanical, Payroll, Public Safety Command Center (PSCC). Determine reportability of incidents and make required notifications.


Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma/GED


Preferred Qualifications


  • Associates Degree/2-year Degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in CSXT or Rail Operations


Knowledge And Skills


  • Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulatory standards
  • Knowledge of mainframe applications
  • Process Improvement skills
