Job Description
Blast Cleaning Technologies, Inc. (BCT) has a full-time MIG Welder (Second Shift) position available.

General Description


Under the direction of the Welding Supervisor, the Fitter/Welder will fit and weld parts to engineering specifications.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.


  • Welding 1/16" up to 1" A36, Stainless Steel, and Manganese using the proper filler material
  • All other assigned projects and or tasks.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Determine what the proper tools and machinery is required to complete the production schedule
  • Complete a final inspection of all parts so that they meet the quality standard
  • Support both your internal and external customers.
  • Make sure that you and the people around you are working safely
  • Coordinate daily tasks to meet production goals
  • Complete required pm's on department machinery.
  • Complete required monthly safety training.
  • Fitting/assembling with assistance, includes reading and understanding blueprints
  • Provide support and backup as needed.
  • Follow fabrication schedule.


Basic Requirements


  • Thoroughness
  • The ability to perform multiple welding disciplines such as; GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW.
  • The ability to use a plasma torch
  • The ability to make decisions and follow through.
  • Verbal and Written Communication skills
  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Problem-Solving skills
  • The ability to lay out, position, align, and square parts
  • Attention to Detail
  • Mechanical Blueprint Reading


Preferred Education And Experience Requirements


  • 3+ years of post-machining and fabrication inspection.
  • Welding certification preferred but not required.
  • 2 + years of experience as a fitter.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.


Language Skills


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.


Reasoning Ability


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

H/she will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and move from place to place. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds and frequently lift 25 pounds.

Employees work in a shop/factory environment with moderate-to-heavy noise levels. Temperatures vary with outside conditions and can be the same as outside temperatures at times. Employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
