Eaton’s ESSG CPSD PDD Power Delivery Division division is currently seeking a Industrial Painter - 2nd Shift (Transformers) to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI!
The hourly rate for this position is $20.80 per hour + $1.25/hr shift premium. The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, less applicable withholding.
- Bonus terms:
- Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.
- Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.
- Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only. Applications must be submitted on or after January 24th, 2023 to qualify.
- Bonuses will be payable in two installments: $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after three (3) months of employment and the remaining $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after nine (9) months of employment

What you’ll do:
The Painter is responsible for sanding, cleaning, masking, and painting transformer units and fabricated components which require final finishing. All units must be painted before final inspection. The individual must produce an eye-pleasing, durable, painted finished product.
In this function you will:
- Follow all safety protocol for paint disposal, and the safe use and disposal of solvent for cleaning paint guns and components.
- Cross train and perform duties in other work areas of the team.
- Epoxy prime bare metal surfaces as needed to ensure proper adhesion of basecoat to metal.
- Use crane to move units into spray booth and use crane to store painted units in staging area for inspection.
- Check the Bills of Material for correct color.
- Change filters and maintain cleanliness of spray booth associates floor areas on a scheduled basis.
- Paint small parts and non-standard fabricated materials.
- Check and maintain proper fluid and air pressure in pressure pots used for spraying all special colors.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Rework and repaint transformers as required to meet inspection standards.
- Be required to know what bushings and associated transformer accessories must be masked to prevent them from being painted.
- Be responsible for the proper preparation of all surfaces to be sprayed; this includes bare metal areas and proper sanding, feather edging of previously painted surfaces.
- Soap wash, sealer application, and blow or air-dry transformers for top quality surface preparation and adhesion of topcoat to basecoat.
- Adjust and periodically check all pump pressures, heater temperatures, air and fluid pressures to maintain the best possible spraying application condition.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of six (6) months previous industrial painting experience.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Waukesha, WI facility. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Painting experience with Urethane topcoats
- Working knowledge of Graco ProMix in-line mixing systems
- Previous working knowledge of industrial airless and/or air pressure painting
Skills:
- Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
