Eaton’s ESSG CPSD PDD Power Delivery Division division is currently seeking a General Welder - 2nd Shift (Transformers) to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI!
The hourly range for this position is $24.50 - $32.75 per hour + $1.25/hr shift premium. The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, less applicable withholding.
- Bonus terms:
- Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only. Applications must be submitted on or after January 24th, 2023 to qualify.
- Bonuses will be payable in two installments: $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after three (3) months of employment and the remaining $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after nine (9) months of employment
- Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.
- Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.

What you’ll do:
The general welder will operate various types of welding equipment in both SAL and MAL for general production work. This may include low voltage welding, welding on stainless and mild steel covers, welding radiators onto the tanks, and using the robotic welder.
In this function, you will:
- Use care and coordinate hand and eye on seam welds to get proper and uniform build-up for good appearing welds.
- Works in all positions; standing, kneeling, squatting, laying and bending. Some parts are heavy, awkward to handle and require mechanical powered devices to lift position and move them. Welder is subjected to smoke, fumes, flash burns, cuts and burns to hands and body.
- Operate various types of material handling equipment including: bridge crane, jib crane, and manually operated hand trucks when necessary.
- Use the manual robotic welder.
- Low voltage welding and mild and stainless steel cover welding
- Use weld fabrication equipment including: oxy-acetylene torch, plasma arc torch, tig-welder, mig-welders, stick electrode welder, grinders, drills and any other special tooling that may be required.
- Work from basic prints, computer readouts, written and verbal instructions and material lists using judgment when complete prints are not available.
- Put both weld-on and bolt-on covers to units - giving them a pressure test using air and soap.
- Work in Transformer assembly positions as needed.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of One (1) year of welding in a manufacturing environment AND/OR completion of a 1 year technical diploma in welding from an accredited institution
- Must pass the Eaton General Welding Test.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
- A high school diploma or GED form an accredited institution is required.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- Minimum of One (1) year of assembly experience.
Skills:
- Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
