Medical Receptionist Per Diem Urgent Care Jobs

Graduate of an accredited MA Program preferred

CMA/RMA/CPCT preferred; EKG Certified & Phleb Certifed preferred. BLS required.

Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND

Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Family.

Preferred – Two (2) years urgent care experience.

Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in an urgent care setting.

Provide medical care for acute or chronic illnesses or injuries.

Monitor lab and imaging results and provide follow-up inquires by telephone regarding test results.

Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team

Prior experience as a receptionist in a healthcare environment

Strong communication and organizational skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites

Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred)

Provide clinical support for providers, patients, and office operations

Immediately report any equipment malfunctions to management team

Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team

Provide patient with crutches and proper use education

Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic’s processes, and procedures

Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred)

Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations

Perform basic patient care activities of daily living as delegated and supervised by an RN.

Remaining knowledgeable in pediatric pharmacology

Prior experience and competency with nursing procedures (not limited to, IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration)

Pediatric Emergency Room, Pediatric Hospital Unit or Pediatrics Urgent Care experience preferred

Basic Life Support certification is required and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is a plus

Administering oral, rectal, intramuscular and intravenous medications

Performing pediatric venipuncture, IV insertion, and maintenance

Requirements: Must be board certified in FM or IM, must be licensed in IL

Schedule: 10 or 14 shifts per month

Hours: Mon-Fri: 8am - 8pm | Sat-Sun: 8am - 6pm

We offer a competitive hourly compensation with the ability to join as a full-time provider

Minimum of 2 shifts per month

2 providers in clinic per day

Each provider will see 30-35 patients on a 12-hour day

1 to 1 MA ratio

1 to 2 RN to Provider ratio

0 to 2 years of clerical or business environment experience preferred and

0 to 2 years of medical terminology knowledge preferred and

0 to 2 years of computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred

Collects demographic and insurance information.

Checks in or interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork.

Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.

Must have legible handwriting and proficient keyboarding skills.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.

Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling/processing and reporting/ maintaining records of patient results.

Perform the required maintenance, calibration, and quality control procedures for each test performed.

Document all correction actions taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specification.

Follows Laboratory Quality Assurance and Safety policies.

Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team

Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant

Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures (venipuncture experience preferred)

Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children

Strong communications and organizational skills

Experience with medical records preferred
