Individual Philanthropy Officer Jobs

Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the Department’s needs, both general and specific to various programs and departments.

Manage an appropriate number of active prospects and active proposals. Number and amounts to be established with supervisor.

Among the administrative and operational responsibilities, the Philanthropy Officer will:

Assist donors, prospects and other select individuals with appointments, scheduling and other necessary facilitation through clinical encounters.

Document all contacts, communications, visits, and proposals in i-BIS and other appropriate donor files.

Demonstrate significant and continuous progress toward campaign or multi-year project goals. Dollar goals established with supervisor.

Knowledge and experience in managing/leading a comprehensive campaign for a university. Proven track record of securing seven- and eight-figure gifts.

Knowledge of the importance of educating students about the benefits of giving as an important part of their campus awareness.

Hiring Range: $310,000 - $345,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)

Manages (i.e., identifies, cultivates, and solicits) a personal portfolio of Principal and Leadership donors.

Reliable judgment, trusted discretion, and excellent interpersonal skills to relate to the numerous and varied constituencies of the University.

Thorough knowledge of the field of philanthropy, including related laws and regulations.

Tracks moves management and solicitation in department database.

Serves as effective spokesperson of Planned Parenthood by establishing knowledge on current local and national issues related to the mission.

Works with other members of the Development team to ensure accurate donor records, pledged bequests, and gift acknowledgement procedures.

Maintains job knowledge by attending meetings and trainings as required.

Assumes other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Develops strategies to ensure the effective and timely cultivation and solicitation of major gifts and/or planned giving activity.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

No experience required but sales and/or telemarketing experience a plus.

Student Philanthropy Officer - Call Center

Must be an enrolled UK student.

Sunday – Thursday: 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Development of written and verbal communication skills and research capabilities

You have experience with a CRM systems (this would be a plus, but is not a requirement)

Assist with donor acknowledgment letters to help sharpen writing skills

Experience in a global nonprofit

Experience working cross functionally across teams within Americares and externally with vendors for the Junior Council event

You have demonstrated presentation skills

2/3 years of experience in customer success, account management or operations role

Experience in high-volume Sales or Account Management roles

Analyze and prioritise your pipeline, and continuously find ways to optimise your portfolio management strategy

Open communication with management and company leadership

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related professional experience

Communication: You can adapt your communication style and manage difficult conversations, and diffuse conflict;

Meets with Director of Major Gifts on a weekly basis for accountability and to discuss strategy and moves management actions.

Experience or knowledge of philanthropy, capital campaigns, and planned giving.

Manages a portfolio of 400 – 500 donors.

Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience in fundraising or similar field.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Raiser’s Edge preferred.

Cultivates donor relationships by updating, stewarding, and asking donors to deepen their financial partnership with the Zoo.

Work with the Philanthropy Data Systems Manager and Portfolio Coordinator to grow Philanthropy Officer’s portfolio through prospecting and related fundraising functions;

A bachelor's degree is required for this position as is at least seven years of experience in fundraising;

Experience managing a variety of staff and academic, or artistic, leadership through indirect influence and partnerships;

Strong interpersonal and writing skills; ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form;

Experience utilizing collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom;

Contribute to the success of a 12-person philanthropy team’s growth of contributed revenue;

Good with technology and systems, experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT is preferred.

Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of major gift prospects and donors (mostly individuals) at the $50K+ level

Participate in each step of the donor pipeline including prospecting, qualification through research, cultivation, briefing, solicitation, and stewardship

Demonstrated experience raising $1M+ annually

Experience in planned giving a plus

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Develops and manages an active portfolio of smaller corporate donors and secures, cultivates and stewards corporate gifts.

Manages corporate partners’ third-party fundraiser relationships, activities, and events.

Drafts proposals, sponsorship packages, program plans, acknowledgement letters and other written materials as necessary and appropriate.

Demonstrates the ability and experience to work on project teams.
