Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY

The Philanthropy Officer, Corporate Partnerships is responsible for actively developing and implementing high quality donor engagement strategies to support the fundraising efforts of the organization. Reports to the Director of Philanthropy Operations and Partnerships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in annual program planning, goal setting, and assessment.
  • Guides donor stewardship, donor research, acknowledgment and communications.
  • Builds and cultivates long-term relationships with current and prospective corporate funders to deepen their investment in CHKD’s mission.
  • Manages corporate partners’ third-party fundraiser relationships, activities, and events.
  • Creates and maintains relationships with physicians, nurses and program directors regarding potential donors and opportunities for fundraising around service lines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works with CHKD administrative and clinical leadership to develop corporate engagement opportunities and to provide a robust philanthropic experience for CHKD corporate partners.
  • Develops and manages an active portfolio of smaller corporate donors and secures, cultivates and stewards corporate gifts.
  • Documents results of all substantive contacts with donors.
  • Drafts proposals, sponsorship packages, program plans, acknowledgement letters and other written materials as necessary and appropriate.
  • Works with Director to assist and steward larger, six- and seven-figure current and potential corporate gifts.
  • Plans, designs, and executes annual and multi-year comprehensive and collaborative strategies to engage the corporate and business community and secures top-tier financial support through corporate sponsorship and corporate giving.

None required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Local travel may be required utilizing personal vehicle; valid driver's license and applicable insurance is required.
  • At least two years of progressively greater responsibility in managing fundraising efforts.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects and donors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Demonstrates the ability and experience to work on project teams.
  • Must be available to work nights/weekends.
  • Proficient skills in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and other applicable software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-confidence, assertiveness, diplomacy and respect for confidentiality necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust and temperature.
