Water Meter Reader Iii Jobs in Florida

The ideal candidate will need to be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Performs re-checks and usage confirmation to determine consistency of meter readings.

Checks meters and reports inoperable, or damaged meters.

Checks and reports missing meter lids or broken meter boxes.

Replaces meters 5/8" to ¾", fixes PVC pipe where needed up to 1'.

Performs disconnections and reconnections when assigned within 24 hours.

1 year of experience in customer service/public contact position(s) by phone, email or in-person.

One year of experience working with ERP modules related to meter reading operations.

$45,010 - $62,000 annually/dependent on qualifications

Providing water and sewer customer service, assisting customers with billing related inquiries, service questions and client concerns.

Using the appropriate device, address questionable consumption of water such as leaking systems and inoperable or defective meters.

Providing leak data analysis and tracks cases until resolved.

One (1) year of experience in operations, maintenance, and construction.

Coordinate and oversee the daily work activities of three (3) or more staff.

Perform complete underground utility inspection and discovery , maintenance, repair, installation, and construction of the potable and reclaimed water distribution, wastewater.

Perform right-of-way MOT and all restorations relating to complete utility maintenance and repairs.

A High School Diploma or its equivalent.

Enters data into meter management programs and Asset Management Systems

Explains department billing procedures and requirements for starting and terminating service to utility customers

Job Requirements & Work Environment

Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Receives work orders; connects and disconnects meters; verifies meter readings, meter numbers, and house numbers before initiating or discontinuing service

Conducts field investigations to answer questions and/or concerns and verify reads

This position has a pay rate of $15/hr **

Reads water meters on an assigned route and records readings

Reports meter skip not acceptable for reading

Visually checks to see that meters are functioning properly and reports defective meters

Explains and interprets unusual readings to customer

Turns water meters on and off

Knowledge of: mathematics to include graphic arithmetic, principles of mechanical concepts, reading comprehension;

Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to follow orders;

Good sense of direction and knowledge of the OUC service area;

At least 1 year (as a full-time employee) experience or more reading water meters in a residential/commercial environment

5 years of experience working in a customer service environment

Knowledge of streets and business locations in the City of Dania Beach
