Candidates with Precision Cut Lung Slicing ( PCLS ) experience and/or pulmonary research experience are preferred.

Submitting protocols for review by the Institutional Review Board

Culturing different lung cell types (both primary cells and cell lines)

Performing human and murine Precision Cut Lung Slice ( PCLS ) experiments

Experience with older adults or caregivers and experience with human subjects research

Supports Principal Investigator with subject recruitment throughout New Brunswick.

Orients participants to the mHealth app.

Performs follow up assessments via telephone.

Access to a vehicle for reimbursed travel to study sites

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Some basic understanding of data management in clinical research.

Candidate should demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communications skills are required.

Candidate must be a self-starter who is detail oriented, analytical, has strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Experience working in other software platforms relevant to clinical research (REDCap, SAS , R, Microsoft Office and internet applications).

Human subjects’ recruitment, management, monitoring.

Data collection and data management (e.g., interviews, surveys, experiments).

Research experience or strong interest in behavioral, epidemiological, and/or health services research is required.

Proficiency and knowledge of multiple statistical software packages preferred, such as SPSS , SAS , R, python, etc.

Experience with social network analysis, text analysis, and other computational analysis is a plus.

Assist with protocol initiation and development, alongside PI and study team.

Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques is preferred.

Experience with primary data collection preferred but not required.

Experience with tobacco control and training in research methods strongly preferred but not required.

Travel to designated tobacco retail establishments around NJ.

Perform data collection on a variety of relevant measures.

Review and edit data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.

Undergraduate/graduate student or recent graduate of an accredited college or university, with computer experience including excel.

Computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Maintain timely notes and records of meetings and workshops.

Assisting with preparation of workshop materials when needed.

Conduct surveys, interviews, and child assessments.

Perform other duties as needed.

Demonstrates good team spirit and communication skills.

Prior research experience in a science-related field.

Experience in microbiology, tissue culture, programming, machine learning, or biomedical data science.

Hearing and speech capabilities necessary to communicate with other researchers and staff in person, on the telephone and by e-mail.

Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Assists the Principal Investigator with the preparation of grant applications and manuscripts.
