Handle special projects as assigned by Field Service Manager

A High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required

6+ years’ experience involving technology troubleshooting, repairs and/or other relevant technical experience.

Advanced experience troubleshooting, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Thorough experience of wiring color code and fabrication of data cabling

$32.00 - $38.00 per hour (depending on level of matching experience)

Work with Project Coordinator and Account Manager programming and implementing new installs, upgrades, changes, and moves

Respond to customers’ service calls remotely from McEnroe Voice & Data offices

Avaya experience is a plus.

Respond to customers’ service calls on-site in the Baltimore/DC area, with courtesy and professionalism

Track, log, and close service calls in company’s system accurately, and according to billing policies

3 or more years demonstrated skills in a high tech environment, emphasizing skills in computer hardware maintenance, software management, and networking

Track and manage inmate inquiries (grievances), complaints and responses

Manage paperwork associated with RMAs for spare parts used in system maintenance

Report generation to meet facility requirements

Add and maintain PIN Number Investigations

Assist facility investigative personnel with reporting needs & tasks

Courses in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or any related field.

Supports the IT team in maintaining hardware, software, and other systems.

Resolves tickets and provides technical assistance and support related to computer systems.

Organizes and maintains IT resources in storage.

Current full-time enrollment at an accredited college, university, or trade school.

A 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and at least Junior class standing.

CPR, First Aid Certification required; OSHA 30-hour Certification and EM-385 preferred; Training can be provided.

AND WILL FOLLOW DAVIS BACON PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENTS, WHICH VARY FROM MILITARY BASE TO MILITARY BASE.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.) preferred. Training can be provided.

Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred. Training can be provided.

2+ years proven experience in the splicing, testing, installation, maintenance and repair of fiber optic networks and/or outside fiber plant

Prior experience using telecom splicing and testing equipment (preferred)

Assembles telecommunications racks and wire management.

Interacts with other departments to obtain technical specifications concerning job sites and requirements.

Provides analysis, relays results, and offers support to assure proper escalation during periods of substandard system performance or outages.

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Assembles and deploys uninterrupted power supplies.

Update and provide accurate digital pictures of work in work management software

Handle moves and additional as required after drywall with retrofit skills

Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.

Read and interpret floor plans and place wiring at appropriate locations

Run wiring in home run, daisy chain, or other wiring topology and identify what style to utilize for a given application

Update and provide accurate paperwork and notes on job status and completion

Associates Degree or equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have demonstrated knowledge of skills related to the installation of Category 6/6A cabling, and termination ad testing of cabling.

Experience in information technology, or voice services delivery and installation.

Experiential hands on knowledge of Telecommunications technologies and their application.

Strong organizational, time management skills.

Strong project management skills and high attention to detail.

Acquire knowledge through on the job training, which includes new product developments, service bulletins and issues.

Complete necessary documents (time sheets) in a thorough, accurate and timely manner to complete necessary customer paperwork for invoicing requirements.

Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance and direction.

EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required.

Ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, peers, et al.

Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.

Completes assignments given by an Installation III or IV independently and works under supervision of installation technician levels III and IV.
