Overview A Substance Use Monitor is responsible for monitoring and assessing individuals who are receiving treatment for substance use disorders. They provide support and guidance to individuals in recovery, and help them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain sobriety. They also provide education and resources to individuals and families in order to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce the risk of relapse. Detailed Job Description A Substance Use Monitor is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. They monitor and assess individuals in order to ensure that they are following their treatment plans and making progress towards their recovery goals. They provide education and resources to individuals and families in order to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce the risk of relapse. Substance Use Monitors also provide support to individuals in crisis, and help them to access appropriate services. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery
• Ability to assess and monitor individuals in recovery
• Ability to provide education and resources to individuals and families
• Ability to provide support to individuals in crisis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Certification in substance use disorder treatment
• Experience working with individuals in recovery
• Knowledge of local resources and services
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
