Senior Litigation Counsel Jobs

Assist with respect to management of litigation and other dispute resolution processes.

Significant experience advising clients with respect to transactions in the renewables industry, with a focus on M&A and/or project finance.

Manage and supervise outside counsel within budgetary constraints; review and approve outside counsel invoices.

4-8 years of relevant experience at a major law firm or with a sophisticated in-house legal department.

Work with general counsel to set up a strong US IP/litigation team

Required Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Competency Requirements

Works with staff and management in developing strategies to reduce claims and litigation. Handles litigation.

Advises appropriate staff and management on recent developments in the law and their impact on AKC and its affiliates.

Prior trial or administrative hearing experience required

Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills

Advises on the investigations of conduct prejudicial to the sport of purebred dogs.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

A minimum of 5 years of legal experience handling complex litigation matters.

In-house experience is not required but would be beneficial.

Excellent computer skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite

Respond to subpoenas and information demands as they are received by the company.

Counsel clients within the GM organization on legal issues and best practices.

At least 5 years of relevant legal experience with a strong preference for knowledge and experience in insurance and/or financial services.

Engage and manage outside counsel as necessary.

Strong analytical, legal research, writing, and communication skills.

CIPP or similar certification by the International Association of Privacy Professionals a plus.

Provide day to day legal counsel on data collection, use, disclosure, and analytics practices.

Assist with responding to data subject rights requests.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Manages outside counsel and litigation budgets.

Prefers experience in the Health Care industry, including familiarity with ERISA and applicable New Jersey insurance-fraud rules and regulations.

Knowledge of health insurance industry preferred, including applicable ERISA concepts.

Knowledge of NJ practice and court rules.

Practical and Prompt Problem Solving Skills

Coordinating communications between the trial teams and the Company’s in-house legal organization and Company senior management.

Assisting with Litigation Hold and Document Management Program oversight.

Proven ability to build an effective leadership style, manage stress and conflict, lead innovation and change, and lead remote teams.

Effective oral and written communication skills

Experience with asbestos and/or talcum powder litigation.

Experience with marketing and false advertising litigation, general commercial litigation, and/or class action litigation.
