Restoration Construction Cost Estimator Jobs

5 + years of experience (variety of public and private projects) from $5 million+.

Proven analytical and interpretive skills in preparing comprehensive and accurate construction cost estimates (detailed and conceptual).

Membership with ASPE and AACE International desired along with Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification preferred.

Must have NYC commercial real estate construction experience

Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency using spreadsheets

Large Loss Restoration Estimator assists Project Management team in producing change orders and supplements

High School diploma or GED required; 2+ years of construction estimating experience; equivalent combination of education and experience

Schedules and executes regular onsite meetings with client and Project Manager Prepare construction contract and coordinate contract ratification

Basic math skills (equivalent to those needed at a GED level)

Excellent customer service and communication skills using English language

Interfaces with clients and insurance representatives throughout the estimating phase

Understands the value management & value engineering process.

Experienced with measurement and measurement software such as Xactimate preferred. (we are willing to train the right candidate)

Provide leadership to cost management team when necessary, ensure the delivery on all of accountabilities.

Good technical experience in all cost management areas; pre-contract, post contract and final account.

Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.

Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to appropriate line manager.

College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a technical focus.

Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable refer major changes to line manager.

Do you hold any relevant certifications?

· Two (2) years of estimating using Xactimate or Symbility. (Experience with both is preferred)

Have you previously worked with any Insurance Third Party Administrators such as Crawford Contractor Connection, Alacrity, Code Blue, Etc. ?

Water damage restoration: 2 years (Preferred)

· Must be willing to work weekends/evenings on a rotated on-call basis.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management preferred, though will consider years of work experience in lieu of degree.

5+ years of work experience in construction estimation, preferably as an estimator, engineer, scheduler, or project manager.

Confidence to work effectively with all levels of management and clients.

Manage multiple cost estimation related client matters which typically involve construction defect claims and disputes.

Communicate assignment requirements directly with client and team.

Lead project team effectively and manage team schedule to ensure deadlines and budget expectations are met.

BS in Engineering, Construction, Construction Management, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

Calculate and prepare material and work item quantities based on project requirements and specifications

5-10 years of experience in construction cost estimating and pre-construction services: preferably in industrial, manufacturing, and/or high-tech industries

Knowledge of software systems, Oracle Unifier, P6, Power BI, Bluebeam, CAD, REVIT and other construction packages

Ability to direct and manage external cost estimating resources

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
