Residential Youth Care Specialist Ft 2Nd Shift Jobs

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Determines the individuals’ strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences by observing daily activities and reviewing records.

Experience working with MH/IDD population.

Certified Nursing Assistant certification (CNA), Direct Support Professional (DSP), Direct Care Professional (DCP) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred.

Must have the following technical skills – Word, Excel and Electronic Health Record (Care Logic)

Incorporates knowledge of the developmental needs of each student in responses and planning for his or her residential experience.

The staff member must meet ASL and/or Braille skill level requirements as delineated in the WVSDB Communication Policy for job classification.

At all times, demonstrate commitment to the quality of the residential program as a foundational component of the WVSDB experience.

Contributes proactively and collaboratively to the continuum of WVSDB’s educational and residential services.

Promotes student self-advocacy and independent living skills.

Must be able to successful complete behavioral management de-escalation course

Six months of direct care and positive guidance experience of youth in a residential or professional setting

Effective listening and communication skills

Complete trainings and certifications as required by licensing, contractual, grant and agency standards.

Use skills learned in new employee and on-going trainings.

Participate in planning and implementation of services, activities, and/or skills training for group and individual work.

Associate degree in human servicesis preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefer 6 months of related experience.

Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including service plans, client assessments and verbal/written summary of each resident at shift change.

Provide quality services in accordance with Love and Logic, Handle with Care, Joint Commission standards and agency policies.

Answer and respond to phone calls, including crisis calls.

Maintains neat and safe work environment.

Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth through paid positions for twelve (12) consecutive months.

Develop positive rapport with youth while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment.

Must assist in the evacuation of youth as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences.

Attend all organizational required trainings.

Be able to assist in the distribution of medications to youth as prescribed by Medical Provider.

Serve as a Substitute Teacher in the absence of the Teacher in a classroom setting.

Physically manage detained youth to prevent injury, as needed.

Knowledge of the juvenile justice and child welfare systems.

Knowledge of basic institutional housekeeping.

Knowledge of behaviors associated with detained youth

Proficient in the use of a personal computer using common word processing, data entry and email software

Observe and document behavior of detained youth.

7. Performs collection management activities for juvenile materials as directed. Creates displays and merchandises materials.

2-3 years’ experience working with youth or community engagement.

Experience delivering programs and services to diverse audiences preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to utilize reliable transportation to promptly report to job assignment and other locations, per job requirements.

14. Assumes responsibility for the operation of the location in the absence of a manager.

Customer Care Specialist --2nd Shift

Knowledge/Skills: Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations. Verbal/written communication skills.

6. Residential Managers are required to rotate on-call responsibilities.

6. Demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and utilizing effective time management.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in mental health field preferred.

Experience: Experience in a group home environment preferred.

7. Meet all productivity requirements.

Ability to work independently and as a team with excellent time management and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

At least two years’ experience on the core system

Strong knowledge of bank’s products and services

Ensure that customers have access to their account(s) by processing Online Banking registrations, Bill Pay registrations, and Secure form requests.

Help out when necessary by performing other related duties which may be required from time to time.
