Residence Hall Building Manager Jobs in New York

Attends in-service training and participates in continuing education to develop management skills; implements and demonstrates skills learned to build staff skillsets.

Compiles other reports and data for management review.

Supports staff in developing their technical skills through electronic documentation and communications.

The Assistant Residence Manager will demonstrate excellence in providing culturally appropriate supports to individuals and staff using a person-centered approach.

In Partnership With The Residence Manager

Ensures that the program is adequately and appropriately staffed and monitored.

List any relevant experience and education that demonstrates that you qualify for the position.

Possession of a Certified Building Official certification through International Code Council (ICC).

Experience working in local government or public sector agency.

An additional 9.5% general salary increase will be effective July 3, 2023

An additional 9.5% general salary increase will come into effect July , 2024.

One year of supervisory experience working directly with people with developmental disabilities is required

Valid NYS Driver's License with 2 years of experience required

High School Diploma or GED required

Uses property management software and key control software.

Maintains knowledge of owners’ name/number/family members, residence numbers, and floor plans and hours of operation.

Maintains knowledge of all marketing packages and promotions used by the sales team (if the property is still in sales).

Coordinate with POMEC any bids for small projects and work with the property manager to present to the Board if needed.

Maintains knowledge of and complies with all residences policies and procedures and protects the privacy of the owners.

Maintain knowledge of homeowner Rules & Regulations.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Site Director.

College credits in Education or related field.

At least one year of administrative experience.

At least two years of experience supervising in school age programs.

Strong skills in communication, punctuality, and teamwork.

Max Hours: 33 per week, Mon – Thurs (8:00am – 3:00pm OR 11:00am – 6:00pm), Fri (8:00am – 6:00pm)

Plan and implement staff development relating to instructional strategies and classroom management.

Knowledge of the principals and practices of current educational trends in curriculum design.

Work collaboratively with Education Department with development of curriculum.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Site Director.

A degree in Education or related field.

At least two years of experience in implementing structured programming for all ages.

Computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft suite and comfort working with databases.

In conjunction with the Program Director, manages the building response to medical, law enforcement and other emergency situations.

Previous experience working in the human services field with onsite provision of social services.

Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.

Check visitors in/out of building.

Supervises reception desk security monitors and ensures applicable policies and procedures are followed at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS (Education, training and experience):

Use professional skills and knowledge of plumbing, heating, carpentry, and electrical to assess building functionality and complete repairs.

Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use of hand tools, and small power tools.

Bi-lingual language skills are a plus.

Ability to supervise staff of employees and manage projects.
