Responsible for phone triage and mangement of patients

One year medical surgical experience in acute care setting required.

Demonstration of Effective Communication skills

Obtain OCN certification within 5 years of hire

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.

Proficient in IV/Central Line access and medication administration.

Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information.

Registered Nurses - New Grads to 3 years of experience: $10,000 (full time)

Registered Nurses with more than 3 years of experience: $20,000 (full time)

Education: Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.

3-5 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

Meets the educational needs of families and other health care professionals concerning the care of the patients.

Reviews all protocols to maintain quality control and patient safety, and to assist Physicians with patient’s compliance.

Participates in quality meetings to discuss cases and review clinical outcomes.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Demonstrates knowledge of insurance plans with which physician practice participates and understands pre-certification process.

Provides education and training to hospital staff regarding cases presented through calls.

Demonstrates proficiency in technical and interpersonal skills, in relating with physicians, associates, and hospital staff.

Maintains current ACLS and BLS certifications.

Answers and triages emergent and non-emergent calls from hospital staff regarding inpatient care in a timely manner.

Stay current with the latest advancements in oncology nursing, attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses to enhance knowledge and skills

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Certification in oncology nursing (OCN) strongly preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably in an inpatient setting

Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution.

In addition, must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse.
