Regional Admissions Counselor Jobs

Proprietary admissions management experience required

Adhere to required daily communication with DVP Admissions/VP of Admissions/Executive Management

Track, manage and facilitate multi-campus applicant pools to optimize cohort capacity

Minimum 3 years Director of Admissions experience preferred

Minimum 5 years sales and customer service experience preferred

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, prospecting software

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

At least one year of experience in enrollment services, academic advising, or recruiting

Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

At least two years of experience in enrollment services, academic advising, or recruiting

At least one year of experience as an admissions counselor, student ambassador, or orientation leader

Knowledge of university and admissions office procedures and policies

Work Arrangement (final schedule to be determined by the department/hiring manager): Remote/Hybrid Eligible

Develop and execute a recruitment plan for northern Alabama; conducting high school visits, attending college fairs, and planning/hosting area events.

Build relationships with high school students and their families to coach them through UAB’s application and enrollment process.

Establish partnerships with high school counselors and community leaders to build awareness of UAB in the region.

In conjunction with the Admissions Events team, create and execute prospective student and high school counselor events.

Advise leadership on territory trends that will impact future recruitment efforts.

Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills

Robust engagement skills and ability to relate to students and families from diverse backgrounds

Competent computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications

Ability to work independently and actively manage an applicant pool to successfully reach goals

Experience recruiting transfer, graduate and professional students

Experience in distance/online admissions recruitment and affinity group marketing

Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, university policies and procedures.

Skill in public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and groups.

Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, presentation, and word processing software.

Advise and assist prospective students by explaining admissions requirements, scholarships and financial aid, academic programs, and campus life

Manage recruitment territory by utilizing data to plan travel, make admissions decisions, and communicate with students

One or more years of experience in student recruitment or marketing

Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

Experienced with Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiar with PeopleSoft and Slate

Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

2-4 years of experience in admissions, sales, customer service, advising, counseling, or related field is strongly preferred

Outstanding interpersonal skills are essential

Excellent communication skills; both oral and written

Experience with various admissions technologies, including Slate CRM, preferred

Additional responsibilities may include choreography for dance major faculty concert.

Management experience in Healthcare arena preferably Assited or Senior Living, or Skilled Nursing industry.

Strong Management Skills in Healthcare Sales required

Proven record of Sales Leadership in the health care industry. Proven ability to supervise others and manage multiple people and locations.

Assist Executive Leadership with meeting census requirements in certain regions throughout state.

Proven ability to manage and grow a sales team to meet required census goals.

Provide monthly reports comparing data collected to national standards.

Ideal candidates have work or educational experience where creativity and generating new ideas was expected.

Education associated with a master's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.

Possess strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills.

Knowledgeable with electronic communication methods.

Ease in using technology for communication, record keeping, and management of data.

Experience in student recruitment, education advocacy, or college counseling.

Experience within an institution of higher education.

This position will require a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain UO Driver Certification.

Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.

Must be detail-oriented and possess strong oral and written communication skills.
