Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

Responsible for safety orientation, safety training, job site inspections and reporting.

Minimum of 2 years of college; 3-5 years experience providing safety management or a combination that demonstrates sufficient knowledge.

Conducting continual improvement towards certification and higher degrees of knowledge in the field of safety

Coordinate with Division General Manager to ensure that any official/visitor from a regulatory agency is escorted while at the division.

Manage division Return to Work/Work Comp. Program.

Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

Bachelors degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related experience

Manage return-to-work program and assist with workers compensation claim activity. Potentially represent the company in litigation of safety/worker compensation issues

3-plus years experience in the safety field in a Union-staffed manufacturing setting

Interface with safety teams and attend weekly team meets as a safety resource

Ensure enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policies and any disciplinary actions that may be necessary

Administer the DOT compliance program for Oshkosh Corporation drivers

Coordinate with safety managers about the requirements and content for safety meetings, including weekly facilitation of Safety Tailgate Meetings.

Assist the safety managers and or safety director with project safety requirements and prepare site specific safety plans.

Work with the safety managers to reduce lost employee time and eliminate hazards.

Coordinate and facilitate mobile equipment safety training and certification.

Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.

OSHA (10-hour) Certification in Safety and Health preferred.

Performs other related duties as required.
