Conduct a variety of organizational skills including punctuality, organization, and time management.

Execution of IT projects at the direction of the Director of Operations and the IT Manager.

Experience in the Ophthalmic/Optometric/medical industry is a plus but is not required.

Warmly greet incoming patients upon taking them back for pretesting before the exam.

Administrative duties included answering telephones, scheduling patient appointments per doctor preferences, and transcribing messages for return calls and faxes.

Perform pretesting including blood pressure, NCT, color and stereo, and auto perimetry

Maintains open communication with Laboratory Staff and Management.

Performs standard microbiology procedures including handling, growth, and purification of cultures. Previous experience of culturing anaerobes is preferred but not required.

Follows all safety requirements for laboratory operation and use and disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste.

A bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field with 0-2 years of professional lab experience

Knowledge of MS Office products

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Two years as a pharmacy technician or related experience preferred. Hospital pharmacy technician experience is strongly preferred.

Preparing sterile linear chemotherapy products upon certification

Distributing and refilling medications (narcotic and non-narcotic) in the Pyxis Medstations

Preparing chemotherapy only if certified to do so by MGH Pharmacy Department and performing LFGI decontamination and cleaning

Maintaining quality of drugs by continuously monitoring expiration dates

Employing established policies, procedures and standards for aseptic technique and handling sterile products

Maintains an appropriate level of competence by ongoing development of knowledge and skills

Participates in age specific educational and training programs

Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency regarding special needs and behaviors of age or ethnic specific groups

Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing

Individuals must be able to do calculations involving ratios, proportions and percentages.

Schedule/Hours: Able to rotate shifts, alternate weekends, and rotate throughout any areas requiring Pharmacy Technician.

Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.

Anatomical knowledge; previous experience working with anatomical tissue

Knowledge of General and specific surgical instrumentation

Knowledge of surgical equipment, set up and breakdown

This is a 25% limited appointment starting from the date of hire, not to exceed 1000 hours.
