Knowledge of clinical lab systems and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems helpful

Manage on average 60-80 incoming and outgoing patient calls regarding medical bills

2-3 years of customer service experience via phone or call center

1-2 years of medical billing, insurance or related healthcare experience

Experience navigating electronic medical record systems (preferably Athena (Centricity Business), eClinicalWorks, Medik, CareVoyant, Nextgen, and Epic)

Greeting patients upon arrival and promptly answering incoming calls, gathering information to determine callers’ needs and provide resolutions

Guiding patient in registration processes, including verification of insurance

Assisting with patient feedback collection

Accurately recording charges and payments to support patient billing, and preparing the daily deposit & reconciliation log

Candidate needs to have experience working with or networking within the Hemophilia or Bleeding Disorder community.

This position is more of a “soft sales” type role.

These Patient Advocates network at community events and meet patients and families of the bleeding community.

They will be managing a territory, working within the Central Time Zone.

They will need to be open to travel and potentially attending events that would be on weekends.

Administration: Office Management, Database Management, computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Minimum 3 years' nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred

Minimum 1-2 years' service recovery experience

1+ year of leadership experience preferred

Excellent Customer Service skills: Phone Support, Face-to-Face Support, Frontline Support

Excellent analytical, organizational and planning skills

Strong multi-tasking abilities and communication skills.

Completes any additional job duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.

6 months to 1 year of medical or related training and/or experience required.

Computer literacy and experience with general office equipment required.

Ability to work well with physicians, patients, and coworkers; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Initiates referrals to managed care for Health maintenance organization (HMO) authorizations.

Provides financial counseling for patients prior to start/during treatment regarding insurance benefits and out of pocket expenses.

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Verifies all insurance and eligibility information is accurate and update insurance record if necessary.

Responsible for obtaining initial and subsequent Preferred provider organization (PPO) authorizations.

Follows-up to ensure medications delivered to patient in a timely manner.

Strong prioritization and organizational skills

Prior pharmacy technician experience specifically with medication billing, preferred

Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, preferred

Patient outreach to collect payments and coordinate payment plans

Review account billing for accuracy and communicate changes accordingly with patients

Coordinate patient profiles with appropriate pharmacy support and services

Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2 years relevant experience ( work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.)

Documented experience supporting internal team(s) required.

Ability to utilize various databases as assigned. Strong interpersonal skills desired.

Willingness to learn new skills relating to consumer reviewer engagement.

Ability to compile data, reports as needed. Strong writing/editing skills preferred.

100% Remote with occasional travel to peer review meetings to observe/evaluate assigned consumers or to set up consumer orientation meetings.

Minimum 1 year work experience.

Handle various communication channels with providers, including inbound and outbound provider calls which involve researching, resolving, and documenting issues.

Analyze data and determines if CareCentrix claims processing guidelines have been followed correctly by researching plan, eligibility, and patient authorization information.

Minimum of one (1) year experience in food service management preferred in an acute care setting

Certified Dietary Manager certificate, Registered Diet Technician or Registered Dietitian, preferred

Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record, and diet office systems

Establishes goals and oversees implementation of patient food services needs based upon medical direction and patient population

Hires, directs, coaches, trains, and develops patient service team members

Ensures patient services staff assists in achieving stated patient satisfaction goals

Follows Patient Safety Advocate guidelines as outlined.

Protects organization’s’ values by keeping patient’s information confidential.

Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.

Experience with event management and execution

Manage community-based vendor partnerships and on-site logistics to enhance the experience of our residents and patients

Demonstrated knowledge of negotiation, probing skills, closing skills and handling objections

Maintain the Matter Health value proposition and champion benefits to potential members

Collaborate with insurance and distribution partners who help patients understand their current benefits and enroll in a new insurance if needed

Manage member onboarding packet distribution and inventory

Helps administer patient satisfaction surveys while explaining the purpose and benefits of the survey.

Current and continuing CPR and First Aide certifications required.

Provides information, explanations, and guidance on resources to patients and their family members.

Coordinates with social workers to ensure that all information provided is accurate and consistent.

Assists patients in applying for services they are eligible for and advocates on the patients’ behalf to service organizations or agencies.

Routinely makes rounds in the clinic while patients are undergoing treatment to facilitate communication and identify patient needs.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

Track and manage resulting actions, follow-up, accountabilities.

Prepare and present periodic reports to various levels of management on assigned accounts.

Prior or current experience within the Hemophilia community and events highly preferred.

Prior experience in Specialty Pharmacy preferred.
