Operations Ehs Director Jobs

Assist management in generating new policies and/or procedures related to safety.

Working alongside site Operations Managers, lead safety operations onsite to maintain the safety and health of all personnel.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills.

5 years of related experience is required

Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment.

Knowledge of new site openings process or experience with construction and logistics EHS functions a plus.

Experience working closely with federal, state, and local agencies across US, Canada and Mexico.

Demonstrated experience in implementing EHS policies and programs across diverse teams.

Knowledge of Tesla’s products, services, and operations.

Strong writing skills; comfortable writing technical documents and general EHS communications.

Strong listening skills; able to drive positive employee relations and safety culture in the field.

Select qualified individuals to fill departmental positions. Develop career path objectives and guide the development of their technical and supervisory abilities.

Directs and monitors the construction of on-site high volume industrial waste landfills.

Represent the company at public meetings, hearings and perform public relations duties.

Basic experience with management systems such as ISO9001; ISO 14001; OHSAS18001.EHS experience expectations at the site level

Professional certifications a must when required legally; Other professional certifications, i.e. CSP, CIH - an advantage

A minimum of 10 years of Adequate EHS experience, with strong ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally in a leadership capacity

Adequate practical experience with site EHS programs in a highly regulated environment (i.e. pharmaceutical, OPEX/ manufacturing)

Manage Relations with Regulatory Agencies, the Local Community and external suppliers:

Bachelor's Degree – engineering degree or related science-based degree; Degree in safety/industrial hygiene/ ergonomics/ environment is an advantage.

· Develops emergency management and business continuity programs

· Reports into the VP of EHS, with Regional Managers as Direct Reports.

· Partners with regional safety managers to ensure consistent deployment of EHS standards.

· Thorough knowledge of occupational safety and fire protection technologies and processes

· Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant work experience

· Prior experience utilizing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise-wide safety information system/database

Experience in chemical management and industrial hygiene

Support key environmental operations for hazardous waste management and environmental permitting

Technical competencies in EHS Management systems and Microsoft Office Suite or other similar tools and systems

Experience using root cause analysis methodologies to investigate incidents and injuries

Proficient project manager, with the ability to juggle and execute multiple projects at one time

Current CSP, ASP, CIH, QISP, AQMD CPP, CES, CEP, or other professional environmental certification
