Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

Thorough knowledge of the Department’s Integrated Tax Administration System.

Thorough knowledge of the taxation and enforcement provisions of the revenue laws and administrative review regulations relating to all tax schedules.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, including Excel and Word.

Ability to analyze highly complex collection scenarios then recommend or perform the most effective and efficient solution.

Thorough knowledge of the Department’s assessment process including the ability to determine or adjust a taxpayer’s liability.

Thorough knowledge of the Administrative Review process for proposed assessments, proposed refund denials, and proposed revocations.

Sound decision-making skills and the willingness to assume responsibility for the consequences of these decisions.

Assist taxpayers and their representatives to determine tax liabilities and educate the public on state tax matters.

Provide technical knowledge and self-help options to taxpayers.

Utilize legal remedies to collect liabilities or secure returns.

Basic knowledge of principles of business administration related to reporting and/or calculating tax

Effective prioritization skills in a timely manner

Assist sworn or forensic personnel with evidence collection, entry into the Law Enforcement Evidence Tracking System (ELEETS), and storage of evidence.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct Stationary/Remote Guarding while standing by at Federal Courthouses, Hospital, and/or other locations as directed

Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Must possess a minimum of two (2) years driving experience

Must have two years prior certified law enforcement or corrections experience. ( Military OR Civilian )

Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements

One year of Military, Security, Law Enforcement, or Corrections experience demonstrating the following:

You must be able to meet all health requirements.

Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of detainees as required in the contract

Exercises surveillance and control over detainees, and maintains order and discipline

Attends to housing, feeding, and the physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day

Intermediate computer skills to write logs, operate visitor management systems, and email

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

High School diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience

Proven customer service skills, with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel

5-7 years Total related security or law enforcement experience (inside or outside of medstar). required

If SPO, must satisfy ongoing training requirements to maintain SPO commission in Maryland and/or DC required and

IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer Basic or Advanced Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification from IAHSS preferred and

BLS - Basic Life Support BLS (CPR) certification required within 60 days of start date. required and
