Nicu Occupational Therapist Clinical Specialist Jobs

Education: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Specialized training or certifications in neonatal therapy is highly preferred.

Pediatrics and NICU experience is preferred.

Bachelor's degree or certification in occupational therapy, with Master's or Clinical Doctorate in occupational therapy preferred.

Licensure: Hold a valid license to practice occupational therapy in the state of North Carolina

A. JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Must demonstrate interpersonal skills including communication, flexibility, independence, teamwork and maturity to operate effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting.

Has ability to manage and be flexible prioritizing patient caseload.

2 years of pediatric clinical experience preferred with preference for experience in acute medical hospital, NICU.

Preferred: NICU experience 1 year

26 bed Mother Baby Unit

18 bed Labor & Delivery Unit (12 labor and 6 antepartum beds) with 2 operating rooms

27 bed level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Assist with administrative/management activities such as process improvement initiatives or projects

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:

Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist

Performs evaluation(s) and develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum.

Performs effective treatment techniques in a competent manner.

Two (2) years of clinical experience in a medical or behavioral health setting

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for health care providers
