A. JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Consults at specialized clinics such as rheumatology, M.D., limb enhancement, or others, as appropriate to assigned responsibilities.

Provides comprehensive evaluation and assessment of patient’s physical, cognitive and self-care abilities.

Must demonstrate interpersonal skills including communication, flexibility, independence, teamwork and maturity to operate effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting.

Has ability to manage and be flexible prioritizing patient caseload.

2 years of pediatric clinical experience preferred with preference for experience in acute medical hospital, NICU.

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

Certified Registered Dietician (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registry

Licensed Dietician (LD) from the Texas Department of Licensing

Develop, implement and evaluate patient nutritional care plans

Collaborate with other professionals to integrate and communicate nutrition principles that enhance patient outcomes

Participate in and interpret uses for research the enhance clinical practices

5 years' pediatric and/or clinical experience preferred

Preferred experience in pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings, including Inpatient Intensive Care Units (NICU, PICU/CICU)

Manage the schedule effectively to maintain productivity expectations

Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required

Patients range in age from infancy to adolescents

Evidence-based evaluation and treatment methods

2 years' pediatric and/or clinical experience preferred

Pediatric experience in feeding therapy, sensory integration, developmental delay, CP, and other neuro disorders preferred

Manage the schedule effectively to maintain productivity expectations

Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required

Complete patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines

Develop an individualized plan of care based on evaluation findings

Supports providers in providing medical interventions for certain diseases (including but not limited to): depression, smoking cessation, and weight management

Assists internal and external Member Services and Case Managers by serving as a communication link and providing education on member issues

Assess resource utilization and cost management: the diagnosis, past and present treatment; prognosis and goals (short and long term)

Two (2) years of clinical experience in a medical or behavioral health setting

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for health care providers

Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other health care team members

Knowledgeable in basic nursing skills.

Knowledgeable to give medications and perform duties of an RN.

Specific knowledge of medical terminology to be able to understand carry out physician orders.

Current BCLS certification or obtained during the first week of orientation
