Translator Interpreter - 8hrs (English Learner Services/ PC#253123)

Qualifications: Fluency in oral and written English and a target language(s)

Please indicate relative training and experience. We are looking for interpreters for all languages.

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Understanding of the key aspects of culture

Candidates must have valid California Driver's License, cell phone, and computer access.

Must have or willing to obtain current tuberculosis test and clearance, and background check.

Knowledge of medical terminology and experience as an interpreter in a Health System setting

Organizational skills to determine patient and workload priorities to enable completion of appointments and projects in a timely manner

Meet minimum California auto insurance requirements

Ability to orally interpret information from the target language (Spanish) into English, and from English into the target language

Ability to interact with and relate to non-English speaking persons of any background and culture with enthusiasm, professionalism and empathy

Tact and diplomacy to effectively meet the communication needs of the general public, medical staff, community, governmental agencies and internal committees

Current knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.

Foreign language(s) written translation skills.

Certification from an accredited medical interpreter program

Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) or National Board of Certification of Medical Interprete

Ability to precisely and accurately translate medical information from English to the patient's native language.

Experience with medical terminology and familiarity with the Health System setting

Organizational skills to determine patient and workload priorities to enable completion of appointments and projects in a timely manner

Experience interact with various departments one on one, through the phone, via video, and in writing

Meet minimum California auto insurance requirements

Ability to orally interpret information from the target language into English, and from English into the target language
