1 - 2 years Knowledge of developmental norms, language acquisition, and early intervention. (Preferred)

Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The position requires at least HS diploma with at least and at least 1 year of translation experience.

Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by converting spoken or written Japanese to English.

Attend conferences and meetings and act as official translator to mediate discussion.

Relay concepts and ideas between languages.

Convert written materials from Japanese into English, such as books, publications, or web pages and vice versa.

Uses computer, software, and internet tools for research, data entry, and other communication purposes within the work environment.

Hold an interpreting certification in other fields (e.g. court interpreter)

Have 2 years of experience as a professional medical interpreter

Bachelor's Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

National Certification as a Medical Interpreter though either NBCMI or CCHI; Utah certification for Medical Language Interpreter through DOPL.

Two years of experience as a professional medical interpreter.
