ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

May provide consultation for chemical dependency problems, education and training for other program staff and community agencies and groups.

Knowledge of regulations and laws governing mental health, behavioral, and addiction services, ethics, confidentiality, privacy, and other related areas.

Providing outreach, education and engagement regarding community based options to individuals residing in nursing facilities with serious and persistent mental illness

The LPNs job responsibilities will be limited by his/her license.

Provide on-going inmate education as related to health care needs and activities of daily living.

Provide education and follow-up care for special needs inmates while incarcerated.

Have working knowledge of assessment and treatment for suicide prevention.

Prefer a minimum of three years of nursing experience in an established medical practice, clinic, etc.

Effective professional management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work with a focus on key priorities and deadlines

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

At least one year full-time postdoctoral experience as a clinical neuropsychologist or rehabilitation psychologist

Experience working with interdisciplinary treatment teams

Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting or state hospital

Excellent verbal communication and writing skills

· Must also possess excellent physical assessment skills and be able to make sound judgment decision

· Keen attention to detail; careful and accurate data entry

· Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing the criminal justice system

· Be able to perform necessary searches for contraband, and completes reports

· Documents numerous inmate activities such as, visitation, phone calls, incidents, movement, housing assignments, property, etc.

· Supervise inmates and trustee-inmates work crews

Three (3) years experience requiring considerable contact with the general public.

Obtain certification as an intoxilyzer operator;

Operates the department's temporary detention facility.

Fingerprints and photographs arrested persons during the booking process.

Conducts searches and inventories property, such searches may involve feeling and detecting objects, bending, crouching or stooping.

Exercises physical control over violent and uncooperative individuals.

Excellent supervisory, organizational, and time management skills.

Actively engage in Quality Management activities to continuously explore and improve delivery of services and streamline systems.

Manage grant applications, reporting and data requests.

Strong assessment and interviewing skills.

Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Act as liaison to police departments utilizing co-response clinicians.
