Injection Molding Process Tech Jobs

You are an innovative self-starter with excellent organizational and time-management skills

You have a solid background in molding process management and engineering, including extrusion blow molding and plastics injection molding

Experience providing support and managing accumulator head blow molders

Previous experience with Cincinnati, Graham, Hitian, Davis Standard, or similar blow molding and injection molding machines/technology is preferred

Evaluate and manage communications with outside supplier sources for molded parts, components, molds, and tooling as necessary

Support Plastic Mold Technician setup and processing responsibilities as needed

High School or equivalent. Technical education/background and Associate’s Degree preferred

Ideally 3–5 years’ Injection Technician experience

Experience with robotics systems with ability to set-up, troubleshoot and start-up injection molding equipment

Set-up, start-up, troubleshoots, and monitors injection molding machines and related equipment to ensure production

Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects

Ensure part/material containment measures are implemented

Communicates daily with shift management to target problem areas and devise action plans

Trains lesser skilled technicians in both technical duties and good working practices

Enhances team efficiency by training and directing the training of less experienced personnel as designated by the Molding Team Leader.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent education.

5-8 years of experience in manufacturing preferably in food or beverage manufacturing.

3 years of experience in an injection molding facility as a technician.

Electrical wiring experience and some knowledge of how PLCs, sensors, and other electrical components are wired and work

Manage supply chain of raw materials through research of polymers, trading cost and lead time

Create and manage die spare parts lists and ensure parts are set up and in stock prior to start of production

Create and manage die PM system, including detailed work instructions and manage on schedule completion of PM activities

2+ years injection molding experience in a production environment

3+ years of experience troubleshooting and programming 6-axis and Cartesian robots in plastic molding cells

5 yrs hands on experience

Day to day responsibilities include:

Five years of hands-on practical experience preferred

Working knowledge of IQMS system and basic PC literacy is required

Work Keys Mathematics and Technical aptitude testing to be considered

Prepares systems, equipment, materials, and components for use during the production process

Performs the necessary tasks of manufacturing an injection-molded part.Other Duties/Responsibilities:

Previous injection molding experience a plus

Communication skills to communicate with supervisors and teammates.

Third Shift ( Sunday through Thursday from 10:30pm to 07:00am )

Ability to operate a milling machine.

Ability to operate an ultrasonic welder.

Extensive knowledge and experience in processing engineering grade resins

Identify and elevate tool, equipment, and other infrastructure needs to management.

Identify tooling deficiencies during preventative maintenance and notify management.

Ability to setup & hang mold/tools for new production runs, manage resin drying, compensate machine parameters in process

Submit requisitions for tools and supplies used in the production department after they are approved by the Plant Manager.

Attend monthly QOS meetings with Manufacturing Manager.

Supports the Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

CAD software experience preferred (AutoCAD, Solidworks)

Assists in validation trials, feasibility studies, design tests for performance of processes and materials.

Assists with development of specifications, new tools, processes and training procedures.

3+ experience in injection molding.

Previous plastics injection molding experience a plus.

Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus.

Required Qualifications of the Machine Operator (Injection Molding):

Set-up and operate injection molding machines, vision systems, down-stream equipment, and material feed equipment.

5 years' experience as injection molding process technician.

Familiar with all aspects of injection molding machines, decoupled molding techniques, and knowledge of engineering grade resins.

Develop and improve accuracy of the injection molding machines and processes.

Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.

Assist with new mold samples and assist in the creation of full documentation on all processing parameters.

Meets with the Shift Supervisor and other Process Technicians to discuss all issues relating to the shop floor.

Document and present findings of the improvements to management. Implementing the improvements and it at the floor.

3+ years’ experience as a Process Engineer in a precision injection molding plant

Knowledge of Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, etc.)

Plant manufacturing (lean) experience (automotive preferred)

Knowledge of APQP quality principles

Proven process aptitude through job experience

Functional knowledge of injection molds, injection molding machine, injection molding processes, mold set ups, and statistical process control

Possess basic hand tools and the knowledge to use them.

Ability to work with Robotic controls and programs.

Pull and set molds in preparation for production runs.
