Salary Range $105,000-$135,000 Plus Bonus

Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced Injection Molding Maintenance Manager. This position will be responsible for a 4-plant location (within a few miles of each other) which includes 80+ injection molding machines plus all secondary machines. This position has 4 salaried & 10 hourly direct reports including automation engineers and maintenance technicians. This position must take ownership of all locations and machine maintenance. This is a “HANDS-ON” position that will work all shifts as needed. Plant Operations are 24/7 and this position will rotate ON-CALL with other managers. This is a UAW union plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Personally make all contacts with salesmen, suppliers, and servicemen through any type of communication necessary.
• Maintain computerized Maintenance Management Software on machine repairs and P/M.
• Determine and maintain a sufficient inventory of spare parts to ensure minimum interruption to machinery and plant operation.
• Environmental Responsibility- Functions as a member of the cross-functional team. Initial Universal Waste training is required. Maintain a high standard for housekeeping and organization. Provides OJT to personnel where appropriate.
• Maintain electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical functions of all major and auxiliary equipment to keep them in top-level working condition.
• Keep all presses in running condition on a 24-hour per day basis.
• Attend monthly QOS meetings with Manufacturing Manager.
• A key role in management requires you to be an interface between management and the workforce. Properly handled, this responsibility allows communications to flow freely both ways from the workforce to management, as well as from management to the workforce. You are required to keep these lines open by initiating appropriate communications with all co-worker’s subordinates, colleagues, and high levels of management, and respond to all communications in a timely manner.
• Be responsible for all building maintenance.
• Initiate a safety check program based on the manufacturer’s recommendations of all machinery and equipment and repair oil leaks as required.
• Submit requisitions for tools and supplies used in the production department after they are approved by the Plant Manager.
• Maintain unscheduled maintenance downtime below the expected goal as set forth by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Perform other duties as required for the safe, efficient operation of the plant and its employees.
• Continue to look at best in class, to reduce cost or repair.
• Work with Plant Manager/Manufacturing Manager to schedule work to be done by maintenance crews on workdays not scheduled for production.
• Initiate and maintain a rigid preventive maintenance program on all equipment and building functions based on the manufacturer’s recommendations. Preventive maintenance records shall be kept in categories of required time plans between checks: daily, weekly, bimonthly, semi-annually, and annually.
• Supervisory Responsibility- Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. If this position becomes vacant, the Manufacturing Manager will resume responsibilities.
• Keep records of work to be done and categorized according to projects, Saturday work, and short orders between mold changes.
• Maintain department budget and cost control.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer to have automotive experience with Tier 1 & 2 suppliers.
• Prefer to have some experience with programming PLC.
• Prefer to have several professional certificates relating to injection molding maintenance.
• Prefer associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
