Part-Time Faculty - Industrial Design (71103)

A chance to change the world of education as part of a global community spanning three continents

Location: Avenues Online (fully remote; ability to work approximately 8am to 5pm China Standard Time)

Ensure students achieve key learning outcomes and target instruction to address individual student needs

Use data daily and weekly to drive instructional practices and provide students with feedback on their progress

Co-construct with students an environment that fosters a sense of belonging and upholds our values of welcome, safety, and respect

Collaborate with other faculty and deans; practice cultural competence in both student and adult spaces

Direct graduate-level lectures and laboratory sessions, particularly in their area of expertise.

Aid in coordinating, and moderating, the clinical practicum phases of the training.

Working Under The Supervision Of The Program Director, The Individual Will

Experience and interest in working with high school-age students who are completing a college level course of study is desired

M.A./M.F.A. in visual or performing arts (required), Ph.D. preferred.

A strong commitment to equity and social justice and desire to open up opportunities for underrepresented students

Ph.D., high school teaching experience, and/or experience working with youth is desirable.

The successful applicant for this position must be committed to teaching classes at both the high school and college levels

University Teaching: 5 years (Preferred)

Teaching graduate and/or undergraduate students within a defined field of expertise;

Developing and managing course syllabi and ensuring that syllabi meet Program and School standards;

Planning and creating lectures, discussions, and course assignments;

Assessing student learning outcomes and aiding student success;

Submitting grades in a timely manner.

Participate in curriculum development (especially for new elective courses).

Commitment to regular and ongoing professional development.

Commitment to working with students individually and in small groups through tutoring, office hours and advising outside of regular class time.

Communicate regularly with administrators, parents and other stakeholders about student progress and engagement.

Participate fully in the life of the school, including student advising, club advising, and committee service.
