Certification by Dietary Manager's Association

Exhibits communication skills necessary to interpret age-specific responses for adolescent, adults, and geriatric patients.

Demonstrates knowledge of modified diets, proper condiments, and related restrictions for diets.

Two (2) years experience in a Hospital, major Food Service establishment, catering service or experience in storeroom/purchasing.

Interviews will be limited to candidates whose experience and training most closely meet the requirements of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Oral and written communication skills;

Experience planning and implementing day to day work assignments for staff.

Education, licensure and certifications will be verified in accordance with the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines.

Qualified applicant must meet CLIA qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):

Based on assignment, applicants must meet related Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) requirements for High Complexity Testing.

Serve as point of contact for IT, including LIMS maintenance and development for Food and Dairy Laboratories.

Must have current Food Handler or Texas Food Safety Manager Certification

Skill in self-discipline, dependable, and ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritizing multiple tasks and demands to accomplish outcomes.

Food Services: Patient Line Supervisor

Required Area of Study: Food Services

Two (2) years college or equivalent with courses in food service management or related field preferred.

Five (5) years supervisory experience in Health Care setting preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalency required.

Oversees, coordinates and supervises employees in the daily operation of the kitchen, cafeteria, retail and catering areas.

Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards:

Valid driver license in the state of Mississippi or Louisiana with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Must be able to perform physical requirements such as pushing and pulling meal carts, and lifting foodservice related items.

One (1) year full-time, wage-earning experience in correctional, commercial, or institutional food preparation or food service industry preferred.
