Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience for Product Testing Engineer

Minimum 1-3+ years related hands on experience using prototyping and testing equipment

Experience prototyping using various processes such as 3D printing, compression molding, thermoforming, hand tools, coating, etc.

High attention to detail and good organization skills.

Good analytical and computational skills - using excel, creating graphs, and performing calculations, etc.

Experience with mechanical, thermal, or other analytical testing equipment.

Support of regulatory testing and compliance.

Weld critical assemblies where strength, distortion and other factors must be considered.

Interpret complex engineering drawings for design intent and critical tolerance.

Set-up and operation of manual milling, turning, drilling and grinding machines.

Demonstrate competence in using precision measuring devices.

High school diploma or GED required

1-3 yrs experience in related field

3-5 yrs experience in related field

Experience with Polymers, waste plastics, biofuels

BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or similar experience in the applied field

Knowledge of machine shop methods and materials used in the manufacturing of metal and plastic parts, fixtures, and simple prototype molds.

Working knowledge of optical inspection equipment, methods and techniques.

Demonstrated capabilities with laboratory practices associated with wet-lab chemistry and formulating is required

Manage raw material inventories, spare parts, and consumables

Manage sample inventory and prepare/receive shipments working with customer service and shipping teams

Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferably 1+ years of industrial experience with chemical and process chemistry development
