Electronic Communication Technician I Jobs

Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements

Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming

Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience building and maintaining electronic systems and equipment and making component level repairs.

We are looking for candidates with some or all the following experience:

Troubleshoot, test, diagnose, calibrate, and perform bench and field repairs to the component level

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

Evaluate, troubleshoot and perform repairs that result in the product meeting current manufacturer requirements and standards.

Knowledgeable in the diagnosis, repair, and precise calibration of the electronic and electromechanical equipment.

Knowledgeable in the use of diagnostic and test equipment.

Proficient in the use of data entry software.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree and/or certification in electronics or electro-mechanical technology preferred.

Meets attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers.

Must successfully complete the Aurora911 Basic Training Program, to include all relevant certifications (CCIC/NCIC, EMD, EFD, CPR)

Must successfully complete “Services” certification training in order to progress to that role.

NIMS 100, 200, 700 Certification

Certification in CPR and First Aid

This role does not require professional experience (entry-level).

Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and troubleshooting.

Experience in a warehouse environment.

At least one (1) year of experience in industrial and shop operations is highly desired.

Loading and off-loading non-ordnance items on submarines.

Transport to/from a storage facility located on JBPHH.

The Technician applies acquired job skills related to the repair of Olympus and Olympus related electronics devices.

Proactively participates in the quality systems, quality improvement and 5S programs as directed by the Supervisor and or Manager.

Demonstrated ability to teach and model technical skills, concepts, resources and tools

Experience or ability to work with test equipment (such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, pattern generators).

Good communication skills (both verbal and written).

Possess basic computer skills (including keyboard and mouse skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Knowledge of standard test equipment used to diagnose electronic components

Experience reading and understanding schematic drawings and wiring diagrams

Knowledge of the National Electric Code

Experience performing manual and physical labor in varied environmental conditions

3 years’ experience performing field service, installation, repair, maintenance and acceptance testing of two-way radios and digital equipment

Installs electronic communication and other electronic equipment, including fareboxes, on coaches and other Metro vehicles

Programs and operates automatic test equipment to aid in the troubleshooting of electronic equipment

Removes electronic communications equipment, including fareboxes from vehicles taken out of service

Performs preventive and remedial maintenance on modules and assemblies

Maintains automatic vehicle monitoring equipment on coaches

3 years’ experience performing field service, installation, repair, maintenance and acceptance testing of two-way radios and digital equipment

Installs electronic communication and other electronic equipment, including fareboxes, on coaches and other Metro vehicles

Sets up new groups for electronic enrollment by mapping benefits and testing file structure.
