Overview Electric Department Lineman Apprentice is a position responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power lines and equipment. The apprentice will work under the direct supervision of a journeyman lineman and will be responsible for learning the necessary skills to become a journeyman lineman. Detailed Job Description The Electric Department Lineman Apprentice will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power lines and equipment. This includes installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground power lines, poles, and other related equipment. The apprentice will also assist in the installation of transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment. The apprentice will be responsible for learning the necessary skills to become a journeyman lineman, including the use of specialized tools and equipment, safety procedures, and electrical theory.
