Overview A Disaster Recovery Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and strategies to ensure the continuity of business operations in the event of a disaster. They must be able to assess the risks associated with potential disasters and create plans to mitigate those risks. They must also be able to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the plans and strategies they create. Detailed Job Description A Disaster Recovery Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and strategies to ensure the continuity of business operations in the event of a disaster. They must be able to assess the risks associated with potential disasters and create plans to mitigate those risks. They must also be able to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the plans and strategies they create. They must be able to identify and document the critical systems and processes that need to be recovered in the event of a disaster. They must also be able to develop and maintain recovery plans and procedures for those systems and processes. They must be able to coordinate with other departments to ensure that the plans and procedures are up to date and effective. They must also be able to provide training to staff on the use of the plans and procedures. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and strategies

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in disaster recovery planning and strategies
• Knowledge of business continuity planning and strategies
• Knowledge of IT systems and processes
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
