Courier Float Lab Assistant Jobs

Courier service running daily Mon – Fri, 52 weeks a year, except on hospital designated holidays

Courier service also to Union House Nursing Home as requested/needed

Yearly influenza or declination attestation (religious or medical exemption only)

Contractor will have to attend orientation

North Country Hospital is seeking a current employee to fulfill:

Maintain knowledge of guidelines, policies and procedures by means of annual review.

Possess adequate working knowledge of the Laboratory Information System. Utilizes the system appropriately and effectively.

Prior experience in a medical office or laboratory is preferred

Demonstrated customer service experience is required.

Prior experience with Laboratory Information Systems and Hospital Information Systems highly desirable.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Able to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.

Requires valid Arizona driver's license.

Must be 18 years of age.

Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Manages and delivers linen inventory to assigned areas.

Manages information utilizing appropriate manual or electronic systems.

One (1) year of directly related work experience required.

Knowledge of the principles of receiving, storing, picking, staging and shipping materials.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Uses mobile phones for in route communications, GPS for necessary way-finding and computers as necessary for daily job requirements.

On the job experience as a courier in a hospital setting preferred.

Knowledge of HIS and LIS.

High school diploma or equivalent

DRIVER - Valid Driver's License

Independent judgment and initiative required to schedule, organize, and plan work.

Weekly/monthly data archive and database management of all sorters and analyzers.

Experience in immunophenotyping and flow cytometry prefered

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Performs daily calibration, operation, startup and shutdown, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of all sorters and analyzers.

Weekly cleaning and organization of all analyzer rooms and main sorter rooms.

Weekly decontamination of all sorters and monthly cleaning of all analyzers

Delivers supplies, equipment, mail and reports as needed.

Loads and unloads vehicles using appropriate means to safely transport costly, perishable and confidential materials.

Responds to emergency requests for unscheduled pick-ups and deliveries by contacting the supervisor to resolve schedule conflicts and adjust priorities.

Adheres to infection control procedures, safety standards and traffic rules.

Reports complaints, observations, problems, suggestions, etc., to supervisor in a timely manner.

Good with time management, organization, and can multitask
