1 year experience in agricultural environment and animal care is preferred

High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years experience working in the Housekeeping field, or other relevant experience.

In addition to education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years job-related animal care experience

Assist with laundry including washing, ironing, packing/unpacking for travel, seasonal wardrobe management, and managing dry cleaning.

Knowledgeable about cleaning various surfaces using various cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.

Produces and manages maintenance schedule for all building and equipment and ensure schedules are adhered to.

Manage Vendor and repairs, overseeing work of other parties when required (e.g. electrician, plumber, HVAC, carpentry, gardening help, etc.)

Will act as the main housekeeper/houseman for all buildings on the property. With normal housekeeping expectations.

Ensure all cabinets, drawers, closets, and linen/towel storage in all rooms of the house are properly organized and maintained.

Two (2) years of experience working in an animal shelter or veterinary hospital

Credit to meet these qualifications will be granted to former interns of DCAS

Ability to obtain certification as a Euthanasia Technician within one (1) year of hire.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Provides care for dogs, cats and any other types of animals accepted into the shelter

Prepares and administers diets, adding supplements

Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout the exhibits ensuring that they meet superior standards for guest play experiences.

Clean and sanitize exhibit props, ensuring they meet superior standards for guest play experiences.

Perform all other duties assigned by the manager.

General knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and techniques with specific protocol for child-safe cleaning products.

Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to interact courteously with guests and teammates.

Basic computer skills using email and teams messaging.

Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR, PMT and First Aid certifications

Must be able to complete all In-Services and/or training required to fulfill the position.

Valid driver's licences and insured vehicle

Ability to make independent decisions

Positive attitude towards the services provided

Communicates with management on changes, maintenance needs and tenant issues.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following

Cleans all common areas and leasing office.

Picks-up trash on property and maintains clean and safe exterior environment.

Keeps parking areas clean and well maintained.

Notifies supervisor of any resident or safety issues.

Assists in planting shrubbery and plants, sodding lawns, and propagating plants and shrubs from seeds, cuttings, and roots.

Sprays insecticides and herbicides in order to eradicate harmful insects and weeds.

Maintains athletic fields and baseball diamonds in good condition for play.

Informs the public on the rules and ordinances applicable to the protection of public safety and public property.

Operates light motorized or power equipment and tools as required.

Makes simple oral or written reports.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Cleaning and sanitizing animal housing in accordance with protocol provided by ASPCA veterinarian team

Ensure animals are secured in a clean environment and provided with water and age, size and species appropriate food

Prepare facility prior to transport and prepare cage charts

Maintain facility professional appearance and cleanliness for the sake of safety of both animals and humans

Caretakers are expected to have good communication skills and be comfortable using email and Microsoft Word and Excel Preferred Qualifications:
