Ability to successfully manage conflict between clients as well as staff.

Supervise youth in all daily activities, such as: recreational, educational, hygiene, meals, visitation, life skills and spiritual services.

Must update certifications as needed.

Typical Youth Services Specialist II core responsibilities include:

Less Secure Youth Shelter for court-involved youth.

Counsel, discipline and physically restrain youth as needed.

Plan, prepare and facilitate age-appropriate activities to promote self-growth and stimulate youth's interest.

All on the job and off the job activities are performed in accordance with the Centers Confidentiality standards and requirements.

Experience: Minimum of two three years of related work experience in Mental Health, and / or Substance Abuse field, preferably both.

Illustrative Duties And Performance Responsibilities

Engages in direct staff hours of service for assigned clients at the rate of 115 hours per month.

Conducts intake assessments/biopsychosocial evaluations for new and existing clients.

Assessments are performed in accordance with the Centers standards, policies and procedures relative to frequency, documentation and timeliness

These positions are located in the Rockville locations of Child Welfare Services.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $76,394(minimum) - $99,618 (maximum).

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Documented experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of staff.

Documented experience organizing and preparing accurate records, charts, and reports and analyzing such information.

Documented experience communicating effectively in oral and written form.

Documented experience utilizing judgment in determining and adapting techniques and strategies to deescalate a variety of situations.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, managers, families and other professionals

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field

Intermediate organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills

Maintenance of Health & Welfare plans and policies and benefits websites and engagement portals.

Intermediate interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly explain Health & Welfare plan options in easily understood terms

Leadership opportunities on site-based Center Management Teams

State of Florida Child Welfare Certification (CWCM) preferred, but not required

Must be willing to obtain CWCM certification within 1 year of employment required

Knowledge of and experience with Federal Indian Child Welfare Act, its significance, history, and implications.

Court experience and knowledge of family law and other areas of law relevant to needs of Programs service population

Participate in appropriate continuing legal education training

Experience in child dependency law

One year of direct experience within the child protection system as a case worker, family advocate, or social worker

Experience applying policies, procedures, and state/federal laws related to child welfare within the state of Arizona

Confer with the authors of the above reports as well as with other persons with knowledge about the family’s circumstance

Position requires visiting children in various settings, including remote areas of the State and potentially dangerous parts of town

One year of clerical office experience/combination of education and experience, PLUS two years of clerical experience in a Child Welfare field.

Six months of experience with general office clerical work;
