Required Experience and Skills for Physical Therapist Position

Paid board certification training & residencies in industry-coveted specialties through Evidence In Motion (EIM).

Demonstrate comprehensive clinical knowledge and acceptable performance in all aspects of the patient/client encounter.

CHT certification or strong interest in hand therapy.

Willing to work towards board certification in Hand Therapy.

Mentorship by board-certified hand therapists.

Develops plans and procedures to assist in the treatment and habilitation of consumers to guide them towards recovery.

Functions as member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDT).

Relates the philosophy, scope and needs of the Activity Therapy Department to the Director of Rehabilitation.

Two years of experience in a rehabilitation environment and/or work with persons with neurological and developmental deficits.

Certification of CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist).

Knowledge of rehabilitative techniques relative to recreation for persons with diverse neurological impairment.

Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly.

Maintains and enhances personal knowledge, as well as promoting professional standards in occupational therapy.

BLS Certification - American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current.

Performs a comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessment, as evidenced by clinical documentation.

Develops a plan of care to promote optimum function and safety, as documented in the clinical record.

Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication, as noted in the clinical record.

Completes all required paperwork and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and outcomes achieved, as evidenced in clinical records.

Certification as a Yoga Therapist required.

Minimum of two years of experience as a yoga therapist, preferably working with pregnant and postpartum women.

Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, particularly as it relates to pregnancy and childbirth.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Developing and facilitating weekly yoga classes for expecting mothers and new mothers, incorporating mindfulness practices and relaxation techniques.

Providing individual yoga therapy sessions to clients as needed, addressing issues such as stress, anxiety, and postpartum depression.

Six months experience in working with persons with disabilities.

Six months experience in planning, organizing and leading group activities.

Six months experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.

Six months experience in narrative report writing.
