Conduct emergency repair work on vehicles and equipment in the field; transport equipment between locations as necessary.

Perform fabrication and welding to include MIG, arc, and gas welding and cutting.

Perform related duties as required.

Seeking an experienced HVAC Technician/Mechanic to diagnose and repair a variety of industrial equipment.

Partnering with contractors, facilities managers, and business owners to provide the necessary products and equipment.

Willingness to learn and transfer HVAC system skills to new/used equipment repairs.

Must have a complete set of tools and be proficient in refrigeration repair (universal 608 or 609).

Perform outlined repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.

Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific equipment to be operated, including inspection equipment.

Must be knowledgeable of occupational hazards and standard safety practices in the heavy equipment industry.

Must be knowledgeable of OSHA regulations specific to the machining industry.

Experience in operating a forklift, crane and overhead hoist.

Technical School or Certification in Industrial Maintenance

5-10 years of combined experience in mechanics and repairer trades, precision production trades

Pay: $37,190.00 - $62,610.00 per year

2 years of experience in performing skilled mechanical work on both gasoline and diesel engines

+$0.35/hour Class A CDL or Forklift Certification

Perform data entry on computerized fleet repair system.

Experience using digital volt-ohm meters, voltage amperage testers, breakout boxes and scanning tools

Troubleshooting or repair experience on open and closed center hydraulic systems and hydrostatic units

Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Tools and equipment capabilities, limitations, and safe operating characteristics;

Coordinates with City departments and vendors to schedule service, repair and maintenance or vehicles and equipment;

Diagnoses and troubleshoots routine problems associated with all systems including engines, fuel systems, and electrical systems;

Performs basic welding tasks for maintenance and repair;

Test drives vehicles and equipment to diagnose, verify work quality, and vehicle safety;

Services and repairs City generators and storm drain pumps;

Attends training classes to maintain up to date mechanical skills and understanding of new technology.

Basic Mechanical knowledge of vehicles & equipment. (light & heavy)

Basic Public Safety & Security knowledge relevant to maintenance & repair facility safety

Basic Installation skill relative to vehicles and equipment

Skilled work experience in the bumper-to-bumper maintenance and repair of fire vehicles Possession of the following certifications are desirable:

Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) certification in automotive and heavy truck repair

Arc, Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding certification is desirable

Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a backhoe and front loader

Completion of mechanical trade courses
