Plan, schedule, and assign the work of skilled mechanics and other shop workers.

Inspect work in progress and upon completion, for compliance with policies, procedures and standard trade practices.

Make initial inspections in difficult cases and diagnose mechanic defects.

Oversee the City’s preventive maintenance program and schedule vehicles for preventive maintenance and the repair covered by dealer warranty.

Prepare detailed cost estimates and make recommendations regarding feasibility of major repairs.

Maintain records of time, materials and equipment used.

Liaison between partnership teams and vehicle management team

Oversee the vehicle fleets supporting multiple arts & culture events per year

Communicating with internal event planning teams and help build the fleet to support their events

Utilizes all assets management software to schedule and document preventive, corrective, and routine work.

Works closely with the management team and vendors to procure equipment and vehicles.

Inputting and updating work orders and information in the Asset Management system. (Asset Essentials)

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and management.

Keeps management informed of areas activities and of significant concerns. Reports major concerns or significant problems.

Accurate records and logs are maintained within the asset management system (Asset Essentials). Equipment is appropriately controlled and accounted for.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

One To Three Years Onsite Driver Management Experience Preferred

Proven Leadership and in-depth knowledge of dedicated transportation operations, FMCSA and DOT regulations.

Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, interpersonal problem solving and innovative thinking skills.

High attention to detail, strong planning, and organization skills

Responsibility for driver safety, FMCSA, and DOT compliance.

Notify Management of low inventory, including equipment and consumables

Manage the company fleet including vehicle tracking and maintenance records for the East Region

Manage the GeoTab system including employee coaching and disciplinary actions with assistance from Human Resources and local Managers

Report any deficiencies in operational and policy level non-conformances to the Project Manager or Operations Manager as applicable

Load and unload customer parts utilizing a fork truck

Sign equipment in and out from inventory using the designated inventory control system

Fleet maintenance management experience in a metric driven environment

Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets – utilize vehicle management systems

Mechanical experience or knowledge including hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics

Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements

5 years of relevant work experience preferred

Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality

Strong Auto Sales and Sales Management Experience

Identify and engage prospective truck-fleets and offer assistance or direction to business customers that can benefit from our services

Consults with Sales Manager when necessary; never allowing a customer to walk without first consulting with a Sales Manager.

Remains knowledgeable of new products, features, accessories, etc. Attends sales meetings and training sessions as scheduled.

Excellent Leadership and Communication Skills

Works with customer on telephone and on the sales floor and determines make, type, and quality of vehicle desired.

Demonstrate people management experience with a track record of delivering results.

5 + years in customer service/operations management/leadership experience.

Proven experience in customer operations including customer experience, issue management, and billing.

Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) applications.

Prefer experience in management/oversight of an outsourced call center.

Strong team management and supervisory experience; motivate and hold employees accountable.

Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to vehicle or aircraft fleet operation

Ability to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment

Ability to manage inspections, physical assets, and working relationships with vendors

Ensures adequate inventory levels (e.g., parts, tires, etc.) to support business processes.

Adheres to purchasing limits, expense approval procedures, and equipment disposal guidelines to remain within cost plan.

Reviews and approves automotive expenses.
