Zamboni Driver - Ice Maintenance Technician

The Coon Rapids Ice Center is a state-of-the art skating facility featuring indoor ice, an outdoor refrigerated rink (one of few in the state), meeting rooms, training rooms and party rooms. The facility provides year-round indoor skating opportunities including skating instruction, hockey skill development, numerous hockey tournaments, public skating events, skate rental and sharpening. We are seeking exceptional individuals to join our team!
We are looking for individuals that enjoy being a part of a team, understand customer service is at the center of what we do and ensure our facility is ready to go for all of our events. You will assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the ice rink surface and surrounding facilities. Yes, you get to drive the Zamboni! No previous experience in ice resurfacing, we will train the selected candidates. Shifts will generally be evening shifts and candidates will be expected to work a minimum of 2 shifts a week including weekends. If this sounds like fun apply today!

• Assists Recreation Workers, as assigned.
• Monitors use of ice center facilities.
• Maintains ice center upkeep including cleaning lobby, floors and windows, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, locker rooms, bleachers and players' benches.
• Maintains positive professional working relationships with all staff levels, other jurisdictions and outside agencies, and the general public.
• Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations and citizen customers.
• Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
• Provides effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations and citizen customers.
• Performs essential position duties and responsibilities under the working conditions and physical demands described herein.
• Follows oral and written instructions such as supervisor's work orders and equipment operation manuals.
• Monitors ice compressor system regularly.
• Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated.
• Collects ice center revenue as required.
• Resurfaces ice as scheduled.
• Assists customers as needed.
• Ensures ice center walkways and exterior are clear for users.
