Role Summary

TheMaintenance Technicianwillsupport manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing all facilities and manufacturing equipment in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the maintenance area/shift leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
• Troubleshoot/repair problems on production equipment of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic in nature
• Complete all work in accordance with IOSHA, NEC, JIC and IDNR standards and regulations
• Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files
• Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa and Magna’s operating principles
• Maintain repair parts stock and inventory
• May be required to adjust shifts as necessary
• Carry out assigned work as directed
• Communicate about maintenance concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required
• Work in a safe and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines and to attain production priorities as scheduled
• Work with all in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
• Implement/improve preventive maintenance programs for equipment, perform scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment
• Remain current on maintenance and safety requirements
• Work with vendors/contractors, displaying company values of honesty and integrity

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have good organizational skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain fork truck certification
• Fabrication and mechanical skills
• Ability to exhibit high integrity and honesty
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems
• Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements and business correspondences and effectively present information to various groups
