Yard Traffic Control Assistant

FSI Transloading is a mid-sized transloading facility in Long Beach, CA.

The Traffic Control Assistant is a person who will:

• Provide information and assist the customers with a variety of requests and inquiries. Release impounded vehicles, when appropriate.
• Issue parking warnings and citations; have cars towed and impounded, when needed; and perform required follow-up activities.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
• Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic by providing manual direction to facilitate the flow of traffic in the transloading yard.
• Follow applicable safety rules and regulations.
• Set-up and remove traffic diversion devices, including; cones, signs, barricades, road flares and other related equipment.
• Walk around the yard to direct yard traffic flows

This Position Requires:

• Willingness to work in inclement weather
• Experience directing traffic is desirable, but not a requirement.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communication as well as dealing diplomatically with the public and fellow employees.
• The ability to acquire a valid California Driver's License by date of appointment.
• The ability to constantly walk, and use both arms and legs for extended periods of time
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned.

Base pay is between $17-$18/hour DOE.
